Tolkien's poem, "The King Beneath the Mountains!" We worked very hard on this and hope you enjoy it:) A note on our interpretation: As described in the book, the legend of the Mountain King's return was one that would bring much joy and fulfillment to both Dwarvenkind and mankind in and around the Lonely Mountain. Thus, we thought reading the prophecy seemed a fitting way to bring life to this text of legend, for would it not have been spoken far and wide for decades, until the day that it would be fulfilled? Then, the text is sung: the tune itself is quite simple, a regular folk tune. This made sense since it would be the common man to whom this prophecy would bring the most hope. The first half of the song, in which the whole text is sung is sort of our "Dwarven tribute" to the prophecy. The second half of the song, after the middle interlude, is as if the listener enters into Laketown, where a bard (pun intended?) may have taken up the tune, and is joined by his comrades now already celebrating the return of the Mountain king as described in the book. Since we wanted to give a nod to both the Dwarves and the men, we decided to use the same tune with two different feels. We hope you enjoy it! This was a joy to compose and bring to life! His crown shall be upholden, His harp shall be restrung, His halls shall echo golden To songs of yore re-sung. The woods shall wave on mountains And grass beneath the sun; His wealth shall flow in fountains And the rivers golden run. The streams shall run in gladness, The lakes shall shine and burn, All sorrow fail and sadness At the Mountain-king's return!

Tolkien's poem, "Roads Go Ever On!" We worked hard to interpret this in the spirit of Tolkien's work and hope you enjoy it:) A note on our interpretation: This is a compilation of poems that J.R.R. Tolkein wrote throughout his books: the first stanza coming from The Fellowship of the Ring, the middle two stanzas from The Hobbit, and the last from the Return of the King. We took a creative approach to this, sort of weaving in the tale of Bilbo, since it is he around whom most of this text is centered. The first stanza is a solo, meant to paint the eager, young Bilbo. The middle two stanzas take on a different melody and they are meant to depict Bilbo’s journeys…involving the various concepts mentioned. We thought a choral affect with a Dwarven slant would be fitting for this since it was with the Dwarves that Bilbo had most of his adventures. Also, we wanted to depict the concept that Bilbo’s poems were timeless, and not just limited to himself, for they seem to embody the adventures of all of Tolkien’s beloved characters. Finally, the last stanza, like the first is a solo meant to depict the accomplished, aged Bilbo. We indeed purposefully included various melodies heard throughout the beloved films, for it seemed only right that since this poem was featured in the Fellowship of the Ring, our original work should flow from the musical genius that shaped so very much the idea of the Road that goes ever on. We hope you enjoy this as much as we do! Thanks very much for listening and for your support! We are unable to get permission to sell this song so we are posting it here free for your enjoyment. Now far ahead the Road has gone, And I must follow, if I can, Pursuing it with eager feet, Until it joins some larger way Where many paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say. Roads go ever ever on, Over rock and under tree, By caves where never sun has shone, By streams that never find the sea; Over snow by winter sown, And through the merry flowers of June, Over grass and over stone, And under mountains in the moon. Roads go ever ever on Under cloud and under star, Yet feet that wandering have gone Turn at last to home afar. Eyes that fire and sword have seen And horror in the halls of stone Look at last on meadows green And trees and hills they long have known. The Road goes ever on and on Out from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, Let others follow it who can! Let them a journey new begin, But I at last with weary feet Will turn towards the lighted inn, My evening-rest and sleep to meet.
One Ring to Rule Them All - Clamavi De Profundis,Music,J.R.R. We hope you enjoy it:) Album Art: Our original work A note on our interpretation: The One Ring is the symbol of all evil. But there are so many forms that evil can take and so it was our challenge and adventure to try and give musical form to this all encompassing evil, (while still remembering that good will always triumph over any evil). The song begins with the legend of the forging of the rings, and our goal was to paint each of the races a little differently, including a literal interpretation of having 3, 7, 9, and 1 voices to speak for each of the rings. Then the song depicts the forging of the One Ring whilst Sauron speaks in the Black speech. The “One Ring theme” enters in, bare and minimal since no one yet knows the impact or power of this evil. The song returns to the original themes as a last glance before the one ring theme returns to overshadow them all. One by one, the themes are pulled into the vicious “ring cycle” as the music circles around, growing darker and more intense. Evil is often at first attractive (i.e. the ring), and a person who is enslaved by a bad habit/sin (e.g. Smeagol, Isildur, etc.) often does not realize their peril until they are already caught up in the vicious cycle of evil, which in the end, leaves them empty and possessed of nothing. These are the sentiments that color the “ring cycle” of the latter part of the song. We hope that you enjoy this song! One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

We hope you enjoy it:) A note on our interpretation: This piece was a lot of fun for us, particularly for those of us who got to roleplay the Ents and Entwives. For the active listener, there are many themes and motifs interwoven throughout the piece. We took a couple of basic concepts and capitalized on them: the connection that the Ents had to the Hobbits, and the connection of the Entwives to the lands of Gondor. You will hear these themes help to bring the Ent and Ent-wife back together, seemingly striving to reunite them. As the Ent and Ent-wife communicate throughout the poem, it seems that they get closer and closer to each other. Finally in the Winter verse, for the Ent’s final line, rather than singing his typical “come back to me melody” he uses the Ent-wife’s melody from her stanzas’ final lines. Then, when the Ent-wife responds in Winter, on her third line, she makes use of the Ent’s “come back to me melody” to finally give us the hope that one day they may truly be reunited. There are more Easter eggs in the piece to be sure; see how many you can find! We hope you enjoy the piece! It was a pleasure for us to create. We hope that you enjoy listening! Come back to me, and say my land is fair! ENTWIFE: When Spring is come to garth and field, and corn is in the blade; When blossom like a shining snow is on the orchard laid; When shower and Sun upon the Earth with fragrance fill the air, I'll linger here, and will not come, because my land is fair. ENT: When Summer lies upon the world, and in a noon of gold Beneath the roof of sleeping leaves the dreams of trees unfold; When woodland halls are green and cool, and wind is in the West, Come back to me! Come back to me, and say my land is best! ENTWIFE: When Summer warms the hanging fruit and burns the berry brown; When straw is gold, and ear is white, and harvest comes to town; When honey spills, and apple swells, though wind be in the West, I'll linger here beneath the Sun, because my land is best! ENT: When Winter comes, the winter wild that hill and wood shall slay; When trees shall fall and starless night devour the sunless day; When wind is in the deadly East, then in the bitter rain I'll look for thee, and call to thee; I'll come to thee again! ENTWIFE: When Winter comes, and singing ends; when darkness falls at last; When broken is the barren bough, and light and labour past; I'll look for thee, and wait for thee, until we meet again: Together we will take the road beneath the bitter rain! BOTH: Together we will take the road that leads into the West, And far away will find a land where both our hearts may rest.

Tolkien's poems, "All That Is Gold Does Not Glitter ~ Seek For The Sword That Was Brokenl!" We hope you enjoy it:) Album Art: Our original work A note on our interpretation: This piece expresses the mission of Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings, not in its fulfillment in the kingship of Gondor and Arnor, but in its inception in the days of darkness and doubt. Its centerpieces are the two short poems, “All that is gold does not glitter,” which expresses Aragorn’s lineage, and “Seek for the Sword that was broken,” which expresses his relationship to the One Ring of Sauron. In the text of the Fellowship of the Ring, Frodo hears the verse “All that is gold does not glitter” on two occasions: first in the Inn of the Prancing Pony in Bree (Book 1, Chapter 10) and again in the Council of Elrond (Book 2, Chapter 2). On the second occasion it immediately follows the recitation by Boromir of the dream, “Seek for the Sword that was broken.” Hence the structure of this song. The other two elements in the piece express the relationship of Arwen to Aragorn’s mission, in which for the second time in the history of Middle Earth, in a manner that looks back explicitly to the first, the races of Men and Elves are brought together. This element is expressed by the words “Arwen vanimelda, namarië!” spoken by Aragorn at the end of Book 2, Chapter 6, and by the words “Farewell sweet earth and northern sky!” spoken by Beren of Luthien in Chapter 19 of the Silmarillion. Note the adaptation of those words from the morning star of the Elves to their Evenstar. We hope that you enjoy this song! From the ashes, a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king. Seek for the Sword that was broken: In Imladris it dwells; There shall be counsels taken Stronger than Morgul-spells. There shall be shown a token That Doom is near at hand, For Isildur's Bane shall waken, And the Halfling forth shall stand.
